Furniture Care

Care and Maintenance Suggestions
From PATIO PLACE and WINSTON

To keep your Winston furniture looking its best for years to come, we recommend some minimal care...

FRAME CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Periodic cleaning of Winston frames is recommended. Simply wash with mild soap and rinse thoroughly to achieve that fresh painted look. Do not use abrasive materials or strong detergents. Do not use waxes on textured frame finishes.

Frame Touch-Up Instructions
Should your Winston frame require minor finish touch-ups, follow these instructions:

To clean your stand, simply wipe it off with a soft, damp cloth; then dry it off immediately using a clean, dry, soft towel.

Use fine grit sandpaper (120 grit or more) and lightly sand the damaged area until smooth with the rest of the surface.

Using a clean rag lightly dipped in rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits, wipe the sanded area clean of dirt and oil. This primes the affected area and provides the maximum bonding surface for the paint to adhere.

Shake spray can for at least one minute after mixing balls rattle. Spray the damaged area lightly in an even left to right motion. This action helps to prevent paint runs. For best results, make two to three light coats. Read the information affixed to the spray can for additional information.

WINTER STORAGE
If you live in a climate where temperatures reach freezing conditions, store your furniture right side up, in a dry protected area. Never store frames upside down. Drain the frame of any water before storing. If water collects inside the frame and is exposed to freezing temperatures, the frame can burst due to the expansion of the water freezing within the frame.

FABRIC CARE AND MAINTENANCE
It is generally recommended to hose down all furniture once a week if used outside. When more thorough cleaning is needed, follow the directions below:

Weather Weave Mix three gallons of warm water with one cup of household bleach and one cup of mild laundry detergent. Apply with soft brush or cloth and rinse thoroughly. Do not use solvent-type materials, which will damage the yarns.

Acrylics and Elbertex Wash with a solution of soap or mild laundry detergent and warm water. Sponge thoroughly with water and allow to air dry. For more stubborn stains, mix three gallons of warm water with one cup of household bleach and one cup of mild laundry detergent.

Printed Acrylics Wash with a solution of soap or mild laundry detergent and warm water. Sponge thoroughly with water and allow to air dry. Do not use harsh cleaning agents or bleach on printed fabrics.

Polyester Fabrics Wash with a mild solution of soap and mild detergent in warm water. Sponge with water thoroughly and allow to air dry. Do not use bleach or harsh cleaning agents.

CUSHION CARE AND MAINTENANCE
To assure proper and expedient drying of wet cushions, it is recommended that the cushions be turned on their sides to allow water to shed.
