Care and Maintenance Suggestions

To keep your Carter Grandle furniture looking its best for years to come, we recommend some minimal care...

Aluminum is an ideal material for outdoor furniture. It is strong, non-rusting, and retains its good looks through blistering summer suns, drenching thunderstorms, and vigorous romping children. Quality aluminum furniture is durable and can last for a decade or more. It is lightweight, making it easy to move, and requires minimal maintenance.

ALUMINUM FRAME CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Regular washing and thorough rinsing of the aluminum frame with mild liquid detergent and warm water will remove surface dirt, outdoor contaminants and body oils. The periodic application of a good automobile wax on aluminum frame (smooth finishes only) will help extend the life and beauty of your Carter Grandle casual furniture. Do not wash your furniture by placing it into the swimming pool or use any harsh abrasives or cleaning solutions and do not store your furniture or table tops in a position that will allow moisture to accumulate inside the tubing or on the top where it may freeze during the winter months.

TABLE TOP CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Tempered Glass tops may be cleaned with any household glass cleaner. Faux and Natural Mosaic Stone tops should be cleaned routinely with mild liquid dish soap, water and a soft cloth. Follow with a clean water rinse and thoroughly dry with another soft cloth. Natural Mosaic Stone tables may generally be left outside in summer months and year round in mild climates. However, they can be adversely affected by extreme hot or cold temperatures and should be protected from these elements. Never expose the tops to freezing conditions or excessive moisture. The Natural top is sealed for added protection. To maintain the beauty of your table top, spills should be wiped off quickly to avoid any possible staining. A monthly application of Johnson's Furniture Polish on the Natural Mosaic Stone top's surface is advisable. Apply with a soft lint-free cloth. This should be done after thoroughly cleaning and drying the top's surface. It is recommended to re-seal the top annually with PorusPlus by MiraSeal.

SLING CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Acrylic, SunStop, Acrylic Jacquards, Olefin, Polyester/Acrylic, Polyester/Olefin, Shadebrella, Textra, Elbertex, and Leisuretex fabrics should be cleaned periodically with a solution of mild liquid dish detergent and warm water. Always rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. For mildew and stubborn stains: prepare a mild solution of 1 (one) cup bleach plus two capfuls of mild liquid dish detergent (Joy, Dawn, Ivory Liquid) per gallon of warm water. Brush or sponge the fabric. Always rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Do not scrub with a stiff bristle brush. Do not use a bleach solution that is any stronger than noted above or any harsh or solvent-based cleaners. Do not put cushions, sling or umbrella fabric into the swimming pool.

Acrylic Prints and Polyester Prints fabrics should be cleaned periodically with a mild solution of liquid dish detergent mixed with warm water. Brush or sponge the fabric lightly, do not scrub. Always rise thoroughly and allow to air dry. Do not use bleach, harsh or solvent-based cleaners or water temperatures in excess of 100 degrees. Do not put cushion, sling or umbrella fabric into the swimming pool.

To prolong the life and beauty of your fabrics we recommend that a towel be placed over the cushion fabric when using any tanning or insect repellent products. Should any of these products come in contact with the fabric, wash and rinse immediately as noted above.

UMBRELLA CARE AND MAINTENANCE
The upper pole and ribs of the umbrella should occasionally be lubricated with WD-40 or a similar product. Do not spray the lubricant on the umbrella fabric. Do not lubricate the crank mechanism.
